Description: Chris Plummer played a nasty
trick on everyone here, by hiding less than 2 miles from the club
with the power of the transmitter turned right down, so naturally
everyone thought with the signal being faint he was miles away,
and went galavanting up around Bury for the second transmission.
A most famous vistory for John Heath here, driven by his daughter
(a learner driver) in a clapped out Lada! (They didn't get far
away for the second transmission, so didn't have to come back as
far!). Chris was hidden on the edge of Sale Water Park, on the
north bank of the River Mersey, below and inbetween the Canal and
Rail bridges. This caused considerable confusion on site, as he
was well hidden - was he on the Mersey bank, the canal bank, or
the railway? Some young hoodlums didn't make things easier for
John Jocys and Chris Heys by lobbing fireworks at them. (John
soon saw them off though. Confronting one of them on the bank of
the Mersey, John asked him if he could swim!)
