This Tutorial is intended to cover the basics of PIC programming in Assembler. Whilst it is pitched at Radio Amateurs all Electronics Enthusiasts who want to learn about the basics of PIC programming will find it useful.

The tutorial assumes that you have a "PICkit 2 Debug Express" kit Part No DV164121 which can be ordered Microchip  here.  You can also buy this from   RS or Farnell. This includes the "PICKit 2" programmer and the "44-pin Demo Board" with a 16F877 PIC..

Where possible the examples also include the information required to make them work on the "Velleman" K8048(Kit) or VM111(ready built) module.

This is available from Maplins and ESR either as a kit or a ready built module. Most of the exercises can be run on the PIC Simulator included in the "MP LAB" integrated development environment available from Microchip HERE so you don't need any hardware to get going!
