Description: Dave Chippendale hid in a
disused offshoot of the Manchester Ship Canal. It doesn't look
like a potential DF site on the map, but there was plenty of
cover. Chris Heys admits to being quite lucky with his victory
here. He stopped to take a bearing on the B5311 simply to see
which side of the Ship Canal the transmitter might be on. As is
turned out he was on site. Chris Plummer had already got there 10
minutes before, having got a good cross from a double-take on the
second transmission at 10:42. Chris Heys then beat him (just)
when Dave next transmitted. This was a bad weather DF - it rained
all the time.
